Babau is the pantropical project of Artetetra founders Matteo Pennesi and Luigi Monteanni in which a fascination with exotica, world music 2.0 and field recordings meets the compositional and improvisational techniques of computer music.
Their latest work, the albums Stock Fantasy Zone and Flatland Explorations vol.2 were recently released on Discrepant and they have been awarded as SHAPE+ artists 2023.
duo has participated in various Italian and non-Italian festivals such as Fusion, Club to Club, Terraforma, Nextones, Outernational Days, Camp Cosmic and Saturnalia.
